Introducing the
NSA/NSF DaNang Veterans Association

Several NSA DaNang Veterans started the NSA/NSF DaNang Veterans Association. This organization is open to all Naval Support Activity and Naval Support Facility personnel assigned to DaNang and all of the Detachments. The purpose of our association is to try to find as many of our shipmates as possible and give them the opportunity to contact or meet old friends and develop new friends from NSA/NSF DaNang.

It is estimated that in the history of NSF/NSA DaNang (from 1965 to 1972) there were at least 30,000 men and women assigned to this command. In 1999, when we first started the NSA Danang Veterans Association, we had a list of 60 shipmates. Today we have found approximately 1500 shipmates.

We have held reunions since 1999. We have been to Louisville, Lancaster PA, San Diego, Branson, Charleston, Spokane, Fort Mitchell, KY, Jacksonville, Wichita, Rapid City, Washington DC., Baton Rouge, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland ME, Kissimmee, Albuquerque, & in 2021 we will be in Branson, Missouri.

Persons attending the reunions enjoy the hospitality room to meet, greet and display your memorabilia and pictures and swap stories and memories. We include tours as part of our reunions. On Saturday we have an educational and entertaining program during the business meeting in the morning. We always include our memorial service on Saturday. We end with a banquet and social time including our annual raffle and auction on Saturday evening.

We would like to invite you and any shipmates that you have stayed in touch with, or know of, to be added to our contact list. We use this list to announce reunions, help shipmates find old friends, and send our annual newsletter. We have shipmates from Covered Storage, Security, SCRF, Deepwater piers, Public Works Seabees, Boat crews, etc. (Tien Sha, China Beach, White Elephant, Piers, POL) Detachments: Chu Lai, Hue, Phu Bai, Dong Ha, Cua Viet, Tan My and Sa Huynh.

We do not collect dues. To-date we have had enough money to conduct the association’s business due to donations and fund raisers held at the reunions.
